The Humans vs Aliens system on PEX is a unique identity layer that classifies every trader who signed up based on their behavior, capital, and influence on the market. It's designed to bring transparency and narrative to on-chain trading by exposing who is behind every trade.
What Are Humans and Aliens?
Humans are retail traders: smaller wallets, low volume, and typically reactive or organic behavior. They represent the majority of users—individuals trading based on intuition, news, or personal strategies, without significantly impacting price.
Aliens are market movers. These are wallets with high balances, consistent activity, and the ability to shift market dynamics. Aliens may use systematic strategies or dominate liquidity. They're not bad actors necessarily, but they are powerful.
Classification Logic
Each wallet is assigned an evolving classification score, similar to a social trading "credibility index" like a Twitter score. This score determines whether the wallet is currently viewed as Human or Alien.
- Wallet Balance: Larger balances increase the likelihood of Alien status
- Trading Volume: High-frequency and high-size trades boost Alien classification
- Behavior Patterns: Detection of strategic or aggressive tactics like frontrunning or liquidation hunting
- Market Impact: Influence over price action, triggering of liquidations, or visible sway over community sentiment (e.g., acting as a KOL or being widely followed)
- Overall Score: A dynamic index aggregating all factors, used to classify the trader in real time
This system updates continuously. A Human account can become an Alien, and vice versa, as wallet behavior evolves.
